Up 'yer date

Well, looks like we've been bad and haven't been writing for a while. Truth is, we've been busy with our MySpace page instead. Come visit us at www.myspace.com/vote1thehoohaas

Briefly, since our last post, we've had two extremely crowded shows at Botany View Hotel in Newtown where all bar records were smashed, a complete sell out at Sandringham Hotel Newtown, a roitous morning gig at Peats Ridge Festival followed by a gig later that night at The Empire in Annandale, a great gig in Woy Woy for Andrew, Alistairs getting hitched, Penny's blowin' her horn for all and sundry in the studio, Wardy's taken up abstract painting and Philip has written his long awaited Survival Manual "How to be a Successful Dole Cheat".

We're supporting someone special...

Here we go!

THE HOOEYS are supporting an old friend of ours, a young guy who grew up only ever wanting to be able to play guitar like Philip Ricketson.
He had the dogma of a famous Uncle weighing on that juvenile neck of his but by darn, he's come good on his own terms.

He is DAN KELLY (or Dank Alley if you prefer), and he's launching the second album with his band THE ALPHA MALES at The Annandale.

All manner of industry types will be there as well as the growing legion of young fans, and The Hooeys are just chuffed to be invited to play and fuck it up for him on his big night!

Bald Faced Madness

The Hoo Haas have a new venue to spread the love in!
The Bald Faced Stag Hotel (cnr Balmain and Parramatta Rds Leichhardt) will be host to The Hooeys this Saturday 4th March from 8pm. Entry is free and you never know just who might drop in...

Jim Woffsy will be standing in on bass duties once again while our Alistair gets himself completely Rat-arsed at a mates bucks night. Alistair also starts work as a teacher this year kiddies, moving up the ladder and into the blandlands of middle-classdom.
For who knows what reason?

Anyhow, we reckon that we're all going to go down to The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital after the gig to check in on Alistair while he's getting his stomach pumped.

Salut!

Keeping busy

The Hoo Haas have had a great coupla weeks with some busking in Kings Cross as well as performing at The Kings Cross "Christmas On The Edge" Festival. We set fire to The Kauri Foreshore Hotel in Glebe two weeks back and make a return there Friday 16th December for our own Twisted Christmas Extravaganza.
Louis Tillett shall be joining the band as will the legendary kazoo-smith, Benito Di Fonzo. It's free entry of course, and everyone is invited to jump up on the microphone to recite their favourite poem, bible reading or to re-enact their favourite sex scene.
The mighty Jim Woff (Crow, The Cannanes) will be filling in on bass duties for the night and during our stint at The Woodford Folk Festival, while the groovy Alistair Lowke is on an extended sex romp holiday.
