A Bottle In Front Of Me

The second independent release from THE HOO HAAS aptly titled "A Bottle In Front Of Me", was launched in December 2004 to much acclaim, and the initial pressing sold out in just one month!

The album highlights the strength of Philip Ricketson's songwriting with nine tracks discussing everything from premature ejaculation to wayward dogs eating ones footware, to a surprise plate of maccheroni exploding in the face of a circus strongman, to life as a hillbilly in the modern age and the urban landscape. Ricketson also shows his considerable talent on the two chord telecastor, while his vocal delivery can be likened to no one that I can easily recall... you just need to hear it yourself!

Backed by a crack arse rhythm section comprising Alistair Lowke on electric bass and Mick Ward on his busted up vintage drumkit, the tracks whip along without the hint letting a good groove escape. The in-demand session great, Penny McBride, then adds her signature trumpet to colour the tunes tastefully throughout.

The album is available at gigs, from e-mailing the group at hoohaas@tpg.com.au
